Tottenham striker Mido will miss five days of action due to a knee injury he picked up, the player said on Wednesday.

The Egyptian international told FilGoal.com on Wednesday that a medical revealed he had a problem in his knee cartilage.

“Tottenham’s medical staff gave me two options,” said Mido.

“Either to undergo surgery and take a long time off, or take some king of injection that will require me to rest for 5 days and then return to action. So I chose the latter,” he added.

Mido’s injury will rule him out of Tottenham’s Carling Cup fixture against Port Vale on Wednesday and the trip to Reading on Sunday.

But the 23-year-old said he will be fit to play for Egypt in the international friendly against South Africa on November 15th.

“I spoke to (Egypt) coach Hassan Shehata and explained the situation,” said Mido. “I told him will be ready for the game.”
