Egypt starlet Saleh Gomaa revealed he has been approached by a Manchester United scout after impressing at the African Youth Championship.
Gomaa, 19, has been named Player of the Tournament as Egypt clinched the title in Algeria and is strongly tipped to leave ENPPI for a bigger club in the summer.
“I have been followed by a number of scouts including two from Granada and Manchester United,” Gomaa told FilGoal.com.
“The Manchester United scout inquired about the possibility of having a trial with the club and he also asked me about ENPPI’s readiness for a potential transfer.”
Meanwhile, ENPPI chairman Mohamed Badr said the club do not oppose Gomaa’s exit, even so there has been no talks with another party so far.
“Actually we welcome the notion of letting youngsters move abroad,” the ENPPI chief said.
“We received some inquiries regarding Saleh and Ahmed Refaat through intermediate companies, but we only deal with official bids from other clubs.
“Up until now there has been nothing of an official bid either for Saleh or Refaat.”
